it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

because miss cory
just moved in.

the lovely
cory broadway
and i missed out on
ever being roomies
(which we both agreed
would have been a
hoot and a holler)
so she did the next
best thing and moved
into our building...
huzzah for the shopkeep!

it's probably
better we weren't
roomates...we would
have constantly
encouraged each
other to skip work
or school to watch
clue and eat chewy
sprees and diet coke.
we're so responsible.

july fourteenth

looky looky
who decided
to grow up
and turn one

this lucky kiddo
got his own
s
pecial party at
lolo and lola's

house...coconut
cupcakes, singing,
and loads and loads
of attention
.

and then he got to
spend the day
at the zoo with his
pilkington fam
eating lemon

cupcakes and gazing
(very quietly and thoughtfully)
at all the animals
.

thanks for all
the birthday
love...even though
he has no idea
what this whole
birthday thing
is about...he still
thought the cupcakes
the zoo the gifts
and all the special
attention

was pretty sweet.

right now:
he is absolutely
obsessed with
swimming (if not
at his swimming
lessons, with lola
at great grandma's
pool)

love's kicking
his ball around

can say dada
and mama (but likes
dada way more)

and is walking-ish
(it can only be on his
terms he's still
getting his feet wet)

we love you mr. b
happy bennett day.

lucky us

this is what
we get to
wake up to...
it's a pretty
sweet deal
if you ask us.

lovely little disguise

mr. b insists
on keeping
his toys in the
living room...
not so tidy

so i found this
broken box...
hammered it

together,
painted it,
found some
fancy paper,
yadda yadda...

and now we have
a sweet little box
to hide his
toys in...and it's
aesthetically pleasing,
which doesn't hurt.

Part II of How to Die On-Screen

A bunch of our friends got together because one of my dear old pals, Steve Haslam, came in from Alabama this week. We had a great time and decided to see if they dared to compete against Catie and I as to who could better die on-screen.
With accents, dialogue improv, and physical humor, they clearly blew us out of the water.

Kings of Leon

One of the bands that I quite enjoy is called Kings of Leon.
This post is for those of you who have heard Kings of Leon, yet are unaware of their place of origin.

The question is, where do you think the lead singer is from with an accent like that?
If you already know, you are not to participate. If you just looked it up, you are not to participate either.

I ask this because when I first heard them, I was sure the lead singer was Japanese and was forced to sing in English for a larger audience. Am I way off on that?
