I like the staggering myself. I love awkward family photos. Almost as much as failblog.
the best part of all of this is that we received inspiration for our first pose aka "night train" from a memory of one of our family pictures when i was teenager, where the "photographer" (some creepy old guy) actually had us pose exactly like that...by placing one hand on the hip of the person next to us...
