Bennett The Flash Pilkington

The contest we set up at the beginning of this blog is now officially over. I found out our child's name today. Allow me to explain.

You see, I feel our baby will be born on the opening day of The Dark Knight. This is due to the fact that he will be a superhero. and today, it just hit me:... Batman.

Think about it. Batman Pilkington.

Kids are often unhappy with their names. What little boy wouldn't want to be named Batman?

I was also toying with the ideas of The Flash (on the condition that it is always pronounced "the flash" not just "flash") Cable (aka Nathan Scott Summers- the time-travelling son of Cyclops and Jean Grey) and Hank McCoy (the Beast from X-Men).

So thank you everyone for your input, but we've got it all figured out.

Some names that were shut down:
Anferny - Cory
Wolverine - Catie
LeGrand - Dave
Esquire - Catie (wasn't originally aware that it is actually a title and not a name)
Rex - Dave
Curtis - Curtis

Cory - Cory
Don - Don
Leon - Matt
Aquaman - ...

I like it. Bennet The Flash Pilkington. Its got a nice ring to it.

I think that his super hero powers (with a name like that) should be something of this nature.

His outfit would be a trench coat and he would find people up to no good, flash them, they would lose there focus and then he'd stop them from doing harm. He'd clean up the city in No time. No time at all.

Is it just me, or did the above comment recommend indecent public exposure as part of his superpowers?

Creepy.

I'm glad you didn't choose the best superhero name, Xavier, because I intend to give said name to one of my children. Said child's middle name will be a shout out to one of the best bands of all time. Thus, Xavier Floyd Stoddard.

Although Lew Zealand may be a lesser-known member of the muppet pantheon, he really is a bona fide Jim Henson foam-and-wire creation.

The Cretaceous Era lasted from 145 to 65 million years ago. What grade exactly did you get in Geology 310?

You guys kill me.

I can see it all now "Unknown Super Hero Stops Bank Heist by Demonstrating Appendage".
He could make his money like Peter Parker by taking pictures of his heroism and selling them to the highest bidder.

And Adam, I'm jealous of your name. But don't worry, I wouldn't have the heart to steal such a creation.
