Stands with a fist
Catie recently had me watch Dances with Wolves for the first time. It's nothing against Indians. I love Native Americans- always have. Pocahontas is easily my favorite Disney princess. It's just that for the past decade of my life, I've felt it best to avoid watching any movie with Kevin Costner. I must say however, it was a very good movie.
When I first heard the name "Stands with a Fist" though, I burst up laughing. But when this woman explained the origin of her name, I got to thinking, what would my name be if I lived in an Indian tribe?
So I looked up different names.
You have got to read some of these
Many are beautiful, others are... unfortunate. My favorite is probably Aponivi - "Where the wind blows down the gap"

You guys make me giggle. Catie, let's go do lunch. What days work for you? I need to see Ms. Corey one of these days as well. I'm having withdrawls for my two fixes. I promise I'll call you too-we won't be computer only buddies.
LOL... I found my Indian name... Makkitotosimew!
I'm pretty sure Spencer Coons owned that shirt in the 4th grade....
Oh, and I totally agree with the avoid-Costner-movies-for-the-good-of-mankind thing.
JFK? Never seen it. Field of Dreams? Nope. Dances With Wolves? Tampoco.
Buckran,
I suggest you stay well enough away from Dragonfly, Waterworld, and the Guardian as well.
Although this new one about one backwoods man being the decider of an entire election looks as entertaining as it does plausible.
That is so funny. I grew up watching Dancing with Wolves, although I can see you cracking up at that part. Josh commented on how much he loves your blog and all of the comments you put in.
I know the trickery of Kevin Costner and I do not approve.
I'll have to watch Dances With Wolves someday. Someday in the very distant future.
